Introduction
Lara's passion for art and creation has been a part of her for as long as she can remember. However, it was not until 2014, when her daughter Lola was born, that this passion truly became a reality. Yukul Art emerged from Lara's desire to create and share her culture while being a full-time mum.
Initially, Yukul Art took shape in a small corner of Lara's family home and later expanded into her garage, where she started her first artist classes. Over the past few years, Lara has grown her business from that tiny corner to her very own art studio in her hometown of Forster NSW, Worimi Country. She is deeply passionate about sharing her knowledge about Indigenous culture to people of all ages through her art pieces and workshops. Lara regularly visits local preschools and primary schools, sharing her culture, knowledge, and art within the community.
"I draw inspiration from my home Country, my family, the ocean, the importance of caring for nature, and Mother Earth."

Power Of People
Power Of People
Medium: Acrylic On Canvas Year: 2023
Story: Now is the time for Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and non-Indigenous Australians to commit together. First Nations people need support to amplify their voices, to protect their land, their people, and their animals.
Change will not happen unless we all unite and fight for what we believe in.
Under The Garuwa
Under The Garuwa
Medium: Acrylic On Canvas Year: 2018
Story: "This artwork depicts the sea (garuwa), which has healing properties. It stirs the heart, makes you feel fully alive, and brings joy to the soul.
Feel the salty air flow through your lungs, feel the water on your skin, and spin in circles as you dive under the waves. Let the vibrations of the waves wash away all your stress. Become one with nature, and you will always feel like you are living under the garuwa."
Together As One
Together As One
Medium: Acrylic On Canvas Year: 2021
Story: "This artwork is a gentle reminder that even though we do not always have the same feelings, the same lives, or the same bodies, we all live on common ground. Our land, our people, and our younger generation need us to come together and work together to build a brighter future for all.
It is time for us to unite, to educate, to listen, and to take action on things we strongly believe in. Let us come together as one."
