The Artwork

This artwork was created for Naidoc 2024 - Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud, and Proud.

Community

Created by First Nations artist Madison Connors, a proud and strong Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung, and Gamilaroi woman, currently residing on Wurundjeri Country (in Victoria).

The 2024 Naidoc theme commemorates the unyielding spirit of Indigenous communities, encouraging solidarity to amplify long-muted voices. Under the banner of "Blak, Loud and Proud," it champions an unapologetic celebration of Indigenous identity, advocating for narrative reclamation and equal recognition, inviting all to engage in dialogue for a more inclusive society..
