With its devoted purpose to unite people, connect with and embrace the very heartbeat of the LGBTIQA+SB* community – Welcome to PRIDE. A celebration of self-confidence, expression, inclusivity and boundless love.
Created in collaboration with two amazing First Nations artists, both artworks captures the powerful journeys, joys and struggles many experience while navigating towards self-understanding, love, acceptance and identity.
a proud queer Ngarluma, Kariyarra, Yawuru, Nyul Nyul woman born on Kariyarra Ngurra (Port Hedland).
"Being able to share my stories through painting is how I heal from my trauma, and I want to help others to share their stories, so they too are able to heal."
a Gumbaynggirr and South Sea Islander man born on Bundjalung country.
"I grew up in a small riverside village, as a member of a family with Aboriginal, South Sea Islander and English heritage. Going through a period of feeling like ‘I don’t fit in’ – as I later became aware that I was the only gay man in the Village."
Today, and every day – Life Apparel exists as a messenger and vessel for First Nations Artists. Built on diversity and inclusion, collectively we strive to amplify all voices, accelerate social change and start important conversations through fashion. As an Australian boutiqe label and proud allies, Life Apparel nurtures supportive, empowering and inclusive environments for everyone. Cultivating an environment where all voices matter, and where our differences are celebrated and part of who we are.
As the only collection of its kind, PRIDE exists to celebrate the spirit of the LGBTIQA+SB community. By illustrating its artists’ individual narratives while also representing allyship, love and respect for identity diversity.
In support of this collection, after each sale Life Apparel will make regular donations to Black Rainbow, Australia’s only 100% Indigenous-owned suicide prevention organisation for First Nations LGBTIQA+SB people.
*As way of acknowledging all community members, Life Apparel uses LGBTIQA+SB as an inclusive reference for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Sistergirl and Brotherboy.
