Introduction
Brooke's family descends from the Butchulla Tribe of K’gari (Fraser Island). She grew up in Kuranda, Far North Queensland, and currently resides in Cairns. Brooke has completed studies in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Visual Arts and has participated in multiple exhibitions across Cairns and Sydney over the years. She has conducted print workshops, art classes, and community activities throughout the region. In 2021, she received the Banggu Minjaany Award. Many of her artworks are held in private collections as well as in the Cairns Regional Gallery.
Brooke has always felt a deep connection to the land and sea, a connection she expresses through her artwork. This expression is symbolised through her use of over-exaggerated colour, scenery, repeated imagery, and animals in her paintings, drawings, and lino prints.
"I use art as a means to record and capture my memories, emotions, knowledge, and stories passed down by Elders in the community."

Story: Through dance, we traded knowledge, weapons, and stories, and established bonds between family groups. Today, we celebrate and come together for NAIDOC to showcase our culture through song, dance, artwork, jewellery making, weaving, fashion, and modelling, demonstrating to everyone that our culture and knowledge are still thriving.
Life Apparel is an approved signatory of the Indigenous Art Code. This ensures ethical trading, integrity, transparency, and accountability in dealings with First Nations Artists. The code empowers artists, supporting them in achieving fair and transparent commercial opportunities for their art.
We are strong champions of ethical practices in the industry and see the voluntary Code of Conduct as a pivotal means to achieve this, reinforcing our commitment to fostering a culture of respect and fairness for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Artists.
